Kindles

The first time I saw a Kindle was on an episode of Oprah. It was a gift for the audience that day and one always knows that Oprah gives awesome gifts but I felt like that days audience was being cheated. Kindles are portable e-book readers. They offer the reader a new way to access different reading materials such as books, newspapers, magazines, etc. I have always been a big fan of turning the page of a book that I just can't put down or sitting down to enjoy the morning paper. Unfortunately Kindles and other devices like it have managed to make one more thing in American people's life more impersonal. I understand the idea behind Kindles and how they may appeal to some buyers but when did America stop enjoying good ol' books. My sister recently purchased a Kindle and it has been very convenient for her and she seems to really enjoy it but I think i'll stick to my regular books and sunday morning papers whose pages sometime need a little finger-licking to turn instead of an impersonal push of a button.
